Patient Participation Group

The patient participation group (PPG) exists to work alongside the practice manager and the practice medical team to:

  • be a critical friend;
  • advise the practice from a patient perspective;
  • provide an insight into the responsiveness and quality of service;
  • encourage patients to take responsibility for their health;
  • carry out research into the views of those who use the practice;
  • organise health promotion events;
  • and communicate with the practice’s patient population.

We have been very keen to help educate patients of the Wivenhoe Medical Practice on various issues such as how to interact with the receptionists and the various members of the medical team in order to get the best possible and quickest treatment for any health issues.

We have also been pro-active in helping people to manage their weight by running a weekly session in which we provide advice on food in-take and help people with their discipline by weighing them each time.  See the articles about Weight Matters

If there are issues which you would like to raise with the patients participation group, please let me know and I will see that they are discussed.
