If you contact the surgery outside of our normal opening hours your telephone call will automatically be redirected to the Out of Hours Service for assistance. Alternatively you can dial them direct on 111
Minor Injuries can be dealt with at either the Clacton Minor Injuries Unit or Harwich Minor Injuries unit. The Clacton unit is located at Clacton Hospital, Tower Road, Clacton and is open 7 days a week 9 am – 9pm. X-Ray facility is available from 9 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday. Harwich Minor Injuries Unit is located at the Fryatt Hospital, Main Road, Dovercourt is open 7 days a week 9 am – 5 pm with X-ray facilities available Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 am – 5 pm. Contact Tel. No. 01255 201240.
No appointments are needed at the Minor Injuries Units – they are able to deal with fractures and can arrange follow-up appointments at the fracture clinic. Waiting times are normally much shorter that A & E.
The Accident and Emergency Department at Colchester General Hospital should be used for Urgent Care only.
The Colte Partnership (of which Wivenhoe is a member) offer an extended hours service offering appointments up to 8 pm on weekdays and Saturday and Sunday mornings. A range of clinics are available – from GPs to Physiotherapists. Please speak to one of our Receptionists who can give you further details on the clinics available and how to book an appointment if required.
